Daniel Razon Receives Best New Male Artist Nom

All My Life

Razon Receives Awit Awards Best New Male Artist Nom

Kuya Daniel Razon's uniquely dulcet voice and wistful interpretations of some of the best love songs of the past impressed the Awit Awards and received nomination for his 2007 hit album.

Razon is among the five nominees in the best new male recording artist award, which is one of the 30 major categories to be awarded by the country's prestigious and long-running music award giving group.

In his album, All My Life, Razon won the hearts of people when this album's carrier single, All My Life, first hit the radio scene in late quarter of 2007. Not long, his song surged to the top slates of several music charts with record-breaking sales for the first two months of its release.

All My Life offers seven songs of love and two original compositions. The Promise, an original composition that served as UNTV network's 2006 theme, and with its nationalistic feel, perfectly matched Razon's disposition as a public servant. Upbeat, yet easy listening new song, In My Eyes, showcased the multi-faceted artist's vocal flexibility.

Other outstanding nominees for Best New Male Recording Artist are Richard Poon for the song I'll Take Care of You, Brian Josef for Crazy But Incredible, Gabriel Valenciano for Shake Yo Thang and Miguel Aguila for Someone in the Dark. Last year, Gian Magdangal was awarded the Best New Male Recording Artist for the song Himala.

The nominee piece All My Life, which was recorded and produced by Breakthrough and Milestones Productions Inc., and EMI Records, is notable for its pretty ballad version that some reviewers raved as "more appealing than the original itself."

In My Eyes, the second carrier single, and currently playing in the airwaves, draws old and new sets of fans who will be mesmerized by Razon's calming voice. The song was composed by Krist Melecio. Other wistfully, passionate songs included in the album are What Matters Most, Just the Way You Are, Out Here On My Own, Lean On Me and She's Out of My Life.

The prestigious 21st Awit Awards gives recognition to local musical talents and boasts one of the most credible screening systems. Criteria for judging are based on vocal quality, interpretation, and musicality.

Jose Protacio Mercado Rizal Alonzo y Realonda

Since my childhood I have that great interest of knowing Rizal's life. I watched films about him and read his two nobels, the "Noli Me Tangere and El Felibusterismo". I still remember how i spend time reading books and articles about him in our school library, how my teacher caught me trying to sneak-into the class. I have brought that eagerness and interest up to my highschool and college school days, spending time on our university library (dapat lang! ang taas yata ng tuition fee noon,[lalo naman ngayon] tsaka airconditioned kasi ang library eh, sarap matulog duon huwag ka lang pahuhuli kay ms.palito(chief librarian) he3x tounge.
And so it goes, I'm on my early 30's now and still have that kind of eagerness of knowing more about him.

JOSÉ PROTACIO MERCADO RIZAL ALONZO y REALONDA
June 19, 1861- December 30, 1896
Calamba City, Laguna, Philippines

José Rizal was a Filipino polymath, nationalist and the most prominent advocate for reforms in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He is considered a national hero and the anniversary of Rizal's death is commemorated as a Philippine holiday called Rizal Day. Rizal's 1896 military trial and eution made him a martyr of the Philippine Revolution.

José Rizal's parents, Francisco Mercado and Teodora Alonzo Realonda y Quintos, were prosperous farmers who were granted lease of a hacienda and an accompanying rice farm by the Dominicans. Rizal was the seventh child of their eleven children (namely, Saturnina, Paciano, Narcisa, Olympia, Lucia, Maria, Jose, Concepcion, Josephina, Trinidad and Soledad).

He was a prolific poet, essayist, diarist, correspondent, and novelist whose most famous works were his two novels, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. These are social commentaries on the Philippines that formed the nucleus of literature that inspired dissent among peaceful reformists and spurred the militancy of armed revolutionaries against 333 years of Spanish rule.

- Crush (Unplugged) - Mandy Moore

toungeHere's something for all mandy's fanatic. (like me )
Mandy was born April 10, 1984, in Nashua, New Hampshire. However, her family soon moved to Orlando, Florida where she currently resides with her parents, Don, a pilot, and Stacy, a former news reporter, her brothers Scott and Kyle. Mandy found her love of singing when she went to a summer musical camp when she was nine years old. Mandy soon became known as the "National Anthem Girl" as she sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" for all the major sports teams and for Chris Evert's Pro-Celebrity Tennis Tournament."

She then began voice lessons and auditioning for plays in the local theaters and got her first role as Ngana in "South Pacific". She has appeared in over a dozen plays in the Central Florida area and has had lead roles in "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Guys and Dolls". Mandy spent two summers at Stagedoor Manor, a performing academy in New York, studying theater during the day and performing at night at the Catskill resorts. Mandy was even auditioned for Broadway and on her first try she made it down to the final two choices for "High Society". She quickly became involved in national commercials, TV pilots and voice-overs, including the voice of "Ducky" for the Universal Studios California Land Before Time attraction.

She also entered the fashion world appearing as a model in a Mexican teen magazine. During the recording of a theme song for a TV pilot, she received an offer to complete a full demo by a producer who took notice of here. A talent scout came in when she was recording and sent an unfurnished demo to David McPherson, Senior Vice President of Urban A&R for Epic Records/550. McPherson liked what he heard and immediately flew down to hear the young star sing. After receiving a couple of other offers, the bright young star decided to sign a deal with Sony Music and tour with Backstreet boys. Her debut single, 'Candy', sold half a million copies. Sales of 'Candy' were enough to convince 550 Music to rush release of So Real, her debut album in 1999. There were three follow-ups, including the soundtrack to her 2002 debut film A Walk to Remember, a small-budget drama that became a modest box-office success.

So two years ago she dipped a toe into acting, landing a supporting role as a snobbish cheerleader in The Princess Diaries. Encouraged with the success of the family film, she landed her first leading role in A Walk to Remember. She's got three films : "How to Deal," "Saved" and "Try Seventeen". Mandy is a spokeswoman for Neutrogena products, and featured in the company's TV and print advertising campaigns. She's is also partnered with the Wet Seal-Contempo to promote its Blue Asphalt product catalog. Mandy appears on the cover of the publication in over 3 million homes and in the advertising for Blue Asphalt Clothing Line.
